History
Christian camping began at Echo Lake back in 1967 as a means for young boys and girls to experience adventure and discovery, and to explore and learn about the amazing love of God through Jesus Christ in a unique camping environment.
In 1982, the lease on 80 acres of lakefront property was handed over to the Canadian Sunday School Mission (now One Hope Canada), to develop this children’s ministry further, and to reach out into the surrounding communities with the Good News of the gospel.
From a wooden stockade to wall tents to well built cabins, Echo Lake Bible Camp has grown from humble beginnings to a thriving summer camp ministry. This has taken place due to the commitment, sacrifice and passion of hundreds of volunteers, over the years.
ELBC now owns 44 acres, and welcomes between 380-420 campers each summer, and up to 1,200 guests throughout our shoulder season in June and September.
Around 60 volunteers are required each summer to make all of this happen!
